Ralph & Stefanie - The Faces Behind Tether and Tease

​

Ralph and Stefanie are the founders and creative minds behind Tether and Tease - a studio born from vision,

craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of desire.

Originally from Germany and now based in Cape Town, their backgrounds in construction, design, and art merge

into a singular vision: spaces that feel deliberate, intimate, and powerfully controlled.

Ralph is a self-made entrepreneur with decades of experience in bespoke construction.

His mastery of concrete, steel, and raw wood defines the architectural backbone of Tether and Tease.

As the founder of Skullgear, his obsession with industrial materials and uncompromising craftsmanship is evident in every structure,

restraint, and custom-built piece within the studio.

 

Stefanie is an interior designer, décorateur, and artist. She brings balance to the rawness — shaping mood through

texture, softness, shadow, and art. Every room is curated with intention, then subtly reimagined again and again,

allowing the studio to evolve and shift, never quite revealing itself in the same way twice.

Together, Ralph and Stefanie built the studio entirely from scratch.

From the first sketches and planning stages to laying the first bricks, crafting custom furniture, and refining every detail,

the journey took over three years.

As true connoisseurs of the scene, they opened Tether and Tease only once it met their own uncompromising standards —

a space they would trust, desire, and proudly invite others into.
